Hurry up and wait. Fast ferry is a great time saver but nothing beats top deck of the Eagle if you’ve got the time to spare.

I enjoyed the traditional (slow) ferry ride. Ferries are on time both ways and the crew are very efficient in letting people board and get off the ferries.

Slow ferry to Hyannis and back. The slow ferry takes 2 hours but the fast one only takes 1 hour.

This is the slower ferry boat. It'll take about 2 hours from Nantucket to Hyannis. Enjoy this slow ride. Take this if your not in a rush.

If you bring your own bike, they let you on early, and you reap the added benefit of getting a seat on the ferry!

Note: high speed ferries get cancelled in 20mph+ winds. And the SSA does NOT have an orderly re-reservation or queuing system. Slow boats keep running with max capacity of 750, but chaos can ensue...

1:30 freight ferry is not listed on schedule but will take approx. 100 passengers (including those in cars). A good backup option. Costs same as slow boat.

When you're leaving the island, make sure to throw a penny overboard as you pass Brant Point Lighthouse. Its good luck (for coming back).
