Lots of snorkeling here. Not a lot of sand in the summer but plenty of space to post up for a bit and enjoy the ocean.

Easily accessible snorkeling spot in Kona, with clear water. Great for families, shallow with lots of fish. On the north side of the beach along the highway you'll find surf lessons and gear rentals.

Great place to snorkel - shallow coral all the way out a few hundred feet - and if you get lucky (and stick to the left side) you might see a sea turtle

Unbelievable snorkeling at a public beach. You can rent snorkels and fins on sight for a few bucks. Gets pretty crowded if you swim out a bit it opens up

Be prepared for a very crowded beach with few spaces to sunbathe. You may want to consider going from your car straight to snorkeling without laying your belongings on the beach.
