This is a large area with Cholla Cacti in Joshua Tree park. You can walk through the cacti.

Don't touch the cactus. If one attaches to you, use a stick to knock it off or scissors to cut it off. DO NOT USE YOUR HANDS. When I went there last month, there were no warnings about the cactus.
