Самый старый город Австралии — Сидней, находится на Юго-Восточном побережье материка и первоначально располагался вокруг удобной бухты Сидней-Харбор.

Архитектурный стиль города совмещает небоскребы в городском центре и обширный частный сектор, построенный в колониальном стиле. Со всех сторон жилые квартиры окружают национальные парки. Сидней известен на весь мир своими достопримечательностями: оперным театром и мостом Харбор-Бридж, они указаны в любом путеводителе по городу. Излюбленными и популярными местами среди горожан и приезжих стали пляжи Сиднея.Крупнейший город Австралии востребован, как место проведения различных культурных, спортивных и политических мероприятий. В нём проходили Олимпийские игры 2000 года, Кубок мира по регби 2003 года, встреча стран АТЭС, Международный день молодежи и многие другие мероприятия.Общественный транспорт города представлен широко развитой сетью маршрутов автобусов и поездов. По реке Парамата и заливу курсируют многочисленные паромы. Можно воспользоваться услугами такси или арендовать автомобиль.
